Inspirational leadership. Aspirational futures. Lead great practice. Help children and families shine.
Surrey’s children’s services have been on an ambitious and fast-paced programme, transforming our practice and improving outcomes for our children and families. The last 3 years have seen us build our framework for excellent practice with changes to our practice model and structures, strengthened partnerships and lots of innovation. Our supportive and inspiring leadership continues to drive forward our ‘Getting to Good’ journey. We’re at a pivotal point now, as we relentlessly focus upon quality, improving what we do and how we do it - delivering better interventions which make a tangible difference for children and families across the county.
As Assistant Director, you’ll use your technical expertise, positivity, tactical prowess and authentic collaborative qualities to help us set and deliver the strategies underpinning our ‘Getting to Good’ plan. You’ll be responsible for the county’s ‘Front Door’ and will take the lead for our ‘Helping Families Early’ strategy, building strong relationships with voluntary, community and faith groups, colleagues and elected Members. You’ll be an advocate of our ‘Family Resilience’ model and your continuous focus on quality interventions will positively impact the lives of children growing up in our county.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 5th September at midnight
The council strikes to tackle inequalities across the county and communities as well as those working for us, so we welcome staff who share our values and are as passionate about delivering quality services.
