We’re excited by the opportunity to create more and better jobs, better places to live and work and better opportunities for our residents. With a £1billion investment programme being rolled out to create over 25,000 new jobs and 7,000 homes across the borough, as well as big plans for stronger infrastructure and much better connectivity, Thurrock offers unrivalled development opportunities right on London’s doorstep.

You will have the scope to build out your resources and develop people to create a culture of excellence, all whilst ensuring our diverse range of small to major projects and schemes are well managed, governed and fit for purpose in alignment with our growth plans.
As Assistant Director, you will be oversee all of Thurrock’s local economic and place-based growth and regeneration initiatives. Reporting to the Corporate Director for Resources & Place Delivery, you will also collaborate with Elected Members and key partners across the borough to ensure our local strategies are delivered to the highest standard. You will play an integral role in driving our exciting regeneration plans, which include vast improvements to Grays town centre; a major housebuilding and economic development scheme in Tilsbury; the Thames Enterprise Park development; and the £1bn investment programme in Purfleet.
This is Thurrock as you’ve never seen it before. If you think you’ve got what it takes, join us and help to lead cutting-edge change within our borough.
