|Client:||East Midlands Development Company|
|Contact Name:||Greg Hayes|
|Job Published:||11 months ago|
|Job Expiry Date:||15 Aug 2021|
The opportunity to help transform a region does not come around often.
In fact, ours is a once-in-a-generation offer.
We’re tasked with helping to turn a region renowned for its innovation, creativity and pioneering spirit into a thriving centre of excellence for future business, living and recreation.
The coming together of five local authorities to create a united vision for delivering vast and sustainable economic growth, gives a sense of the East Midlands’ boldness and its massive potential. We are confident that our courage, foresight and determination to positively impact the lives of local people, will be matched by the imagination and investment of commercial partners and the early indications are very encouraging.
That’s why the East Midlands Development Corporation has been created.
We’ve been established specially to drive transformational change, focussing initially on three sites, each of which is bigger than London’s Olympic Park. This is an opportunity to respond to societal changes which extend beyond the impact of Covid-19. We’re here to create greener, more prosperous places, fit for the 21st century. As a private sector led regeneration vehicle, backed up by Government, we will have special powers that amplify the bold steps already taken by the five local authority partners. We plan to create 84,000 jobs, deliver 10,000 homes and add billions to the regional economy.
As Chair, you will create a legacy for the region and play a major role in shaping its future. You will need to help create and leverage the expertise and insights of a diverse board and to develop strategies which encapsulate the potential of our sites. You will know how to convert strategy into delivery. You will be skilled in creating effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders, from local resident groups to Government, from councils to industry and investors.
You’ll navigate the many challenges by being creative in your problem solving. You’ll also use your outstanding communication skills to keep all stakeholders and partners engaged, and show tangible progress against their desired outcomes. You’ll make the most of every opportunity to truly ‘place make’.
This is not a role for the faint-hearted. But the opportunity is boundless.
