We believe in Basildon as a place of opportunity where hard work and community contribution are the signposts for success. A Basildon where our children and young people can flourish, enjoying fulfilling and active lives of aspiration and achievement. A Basildon we can all be proud of with a safe, clean public realm, regenerated town centres, high quality public services and outstanding infrastructure. This is our blueprint for Basildon. Being Basildon’s Chief Executive means turning this blueprint into reality. Are you ready?
Let’s get to work
We are at the start of something very special here in Basildon. With a new administration and newly forming leadership team we are ready to grasp the opportunities in front of us and build a Council that works with pace and purpose to deliver our objectives.
Basildon powers the Essex economy and creates high paying jobs at the cutting edge of technology. Our Chief Executive will unashamedly put Basildon first and ensure that every resident benefits from our economic strength. You’ll unlock the potential of our asset base to regenerate our towns and revitalise our communities. And you’ll help us ensure all our residents have a decent roof over their heads. Our residents want a reimagined waste service and that will be a key early priority on your to do list. Everything you do will be characterised by your desire to move at pace, and to get things delivered for our residents.
Relationship building will be fundamental to your success, as we look to strengthen our ties with central government and influence the future direction of the sector. Nearer to home, our new area committees are bringing democracy closer to communities and creating opportunities for local voluntary groups to have a bigger stake in the design and delivery of Basildon’s future.
Our new Chief Executive will be dynamic, front-facing and motivated by delivering outcomes at pace. You’ll create the conditions for our brilliant workforce to flourish, in an organisation culture committed to service excellence, high performance and partnership working. Most of all we want you to believe in the power and potential of Basildon as much as we do.
