As Stockport’s Director of Finance and Section 151 Officer, you will be joining us at an incredible time. 2024 is a landmark year for us, and we have an ambitious £1 billion development and regeneration programme that is transforming the town centre and beyond. The next phase of our Borough Plan is One Stockport: One Future, which sets out the ‘5 Big Things’ that will make Stockport a place where everyone can live happy and healthy lives.

What we are looking for

We want to build on the brilliant success we have already achieved and tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time, from inequalities in our borough to the effects of climate change.  

This is your opportunity to join our award-winning leadership team and provide the financial advice, challenge and support that helps us deliver our ambitions for Stockport.  Your portfolio will include all aspects of corporate and service finance, as well as providing financial leadership for our development and regeneration programme and the One Stockport: One Future transformation.  You will also lead revenue and benefits, the internal audit, insurance and risk management functions as well as fraud and procurement.
