Job Description

Hounslow benefits from being in a fantastic location, with both Heathrow on our doorstep and central London within easy reach. This has been a pull for major UK, European and International corporations, all of whom can call upon a highly skilled workforce from the diverse population we have.

However the global pandemic has had a real local impact. We began 2020 as one of the fastest growing economies in the country and entered 2021 heading into a third national lockdown, with unemployment in the borough the highest it has been in more than a generation. However, we have managed to come out of Covid in a strong financial position and we intend to use this to springboard the borough into the future.

Our commitment to regeneration and economic development has already been embedded in our services, but since the global pandemic, it is now an area of upmost importance to the borough. We recognise that the future of Hounslow rests on its regeneration. And we have a lot of regeneration potential. It just needs to be realised, and needs the right planning framework to be in place.

This is where you’ll come in. This isn’t going to be about delivering the same old. You will be focused on physical and economic regeneration. You will lead on how we attract both people and investment to the borough, and you’ll have the responsibility for making our development schemes work and happen.

The Council is a catalyst for change. We have developed ambitious town centre strategies. We now need you to make them a reality. The Great West Corridor, Hounslow town centre, Heathrow, all of these offer great opportunities. But to accelerate delivery, we need to be proactive.
