Job Description
The only thing we wish to retire is old thinking.
Situated between Worcestershire and the Brecon Beacons of Wales, the county of Herefordshire enjoys rolling pastures, rural charm and a rustic image. But looks can be deceiving. Behind our beautiful scenery belies a host of healthy and vibrant businesses, diverse communities and huge opportunity.
Herefordshire Council has refocused its growth ambitions for the future. With a strong emphasis on addressing climate change, the implementation of a multimillion-pound capital programme to deliver new council housing and economic development, as well as a new masterplan for Hereford city, there’s never been a better time to choose Herefordshire.
We have an exciting opportunity for a new Head of Corporate Performance to join us to lead and develop our council-wide performance and intelligence function. In this key leadership role, you’ll lead an analysis of the council’s current operations across all service areas, seeking out new ways to improve performance and to ensure our organisational performance framework is effective and fit for the future. Importantly, you’ll use data and intelligence to enable more informed decision-making across the council, working with our wider leadership team to set clear performance measures across all service areas to monitor and improve the organisation’s overall performance.
As our new Head of Corporate Performance, you will have a proven track record of improving service performance within a complex organisation, ideally with some prior knowledge or experience within local government and/or the wider public sector. However, what matters most is your ability to drive excellence in corporate performance and to guide an expert team around you. If this sounds like you, please join us and help make Herefordshire shine.
