Head of Improvement for Residential Services
 
This Head of Improvement role will lead on overseeing the improvement of the residential estate in Jersey ensuring that it creates a safe and nurturing environment, focused on the development of therapeutic relationships enabling children to thrive. Our residential estate comprises eleven separately Registered (via Jersey Care Commission) services. These services are predominately described and Registered as Children’s Homes. Six of the eleven Homes cater for Children in the Care of the Minister from the ages of 7 - 18 years, offering homes for thirteen children.  Two provisions provide homes for young care experienced adults who are 18 to 21 years for up to twelve young people. Two additional homes offer Short Breaks to children with disabilities for up to six children. 

The residential estate also includes a Secure Children’s Home which can cater for three young people who are placed either on welfare or criminal grounds. The Homes are staffed by a Registered Manager (RM) together with a team of Residential Child Care Officers, with a minimum of 2 staff on duty 24/7. The Head of Service role will also take responsibility for leading on the sufficiency and residential reform part of the Children’s Services reform programme, as well as providing operational management and strategic development of the wider service as a member of the Children’s Services Management Team.

This will be a 2 year Fixed Term Contract, on a salary of circa £104K per annum, with help with travel and accommodation costs.
