Get to know: Helen Anderson, Senior Consultant

​What is your background?

I’ve been working in public sector executive recruitment for almost 10 years, originally within the education and charity sectors before deciding to specialise in local government recruitment. I focus on leading permanent appointment processes, from Head of Service through to Chief Executive level, and my experience ranges across the areas of People, Place and Resources. I’m genuinely passionate about my job and I’m proud that my work to support the appointment of great leaders can really make a difference to people’s lives.

Why did you decide to join Tile Hill?

For me, the main draw to Tile Hill is the people. I’ve worked with the majority of the team before in different companies, so the chance to work with them all again in one united team with the same vision and goals is so appealing to me. Tile Hill is also a young company that has masses of potential, so being given the chance to help grow and develop the company from an early stage was a no-brainer!

Tell us more about your role at Tile Hill?

My role will be to work alongside Greg to help develop and expand our Executive Search practice for permanent senior level recruitment. A lot of the time, my role revolves around talking to people, whether it be to help a client find an exceptional new leader or to help a candidate find their ideal next career move. Either way, I enjoy finding solutions for people and like to ensure that everyone has a great experience with Tile Hill along the way. I’ll be focusing my time on building new relationships with authorities across the country to continue to expand and enhance our Executive Search offering.

What will you be bringing to the table?

I bring almost 10 years’ recruitment experience at a senior level. I’ve previously worked for some great executive search firms and have networks across various different sectors that may encourage our clients to think differently about their future leaders. I’m passionate about making people feel good, so regardless of who I come into contact with in my job, I aim to make people feel like they’ve genuinely been listened to and that I’ve helped them to achieve a positive outcome.

What’s your approach to recruitment?

Listen, learn, ask questions, challenge and deliver. I always aim to exceed our clients’ expectations; I don’t like to just settle for good.
