Walsall Council is embarking on a bold transformation of its commissioning functions, and we’re looking for a visionary leader to join us as Director of Commissioning and Partnerships. This is a pivotal role in our newly integrated commissioning model, bringing together Health, Care, and Communities to deliver outcomes that truly matter to our residents.
As part of our Corporate Management Team, you’ll lead strategic and operational commissioning across Adult Social Care and Health, working collaboratively with partners including the NHS, voluntary sector, and social care providers. You’ll drive innovation, champion quality, and ensure services are designed around people and place.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of Walsall’s Commissioning Strategy.
- Oversee commissioning across the borough, adapting services to meet current and future needs.
- Develop new service models and ensure value for money.
- Build strong partnerships to enable integrated, person-centred support.
- Champion quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Shape systems and processes that support effective social care delivery.
We’re seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking leader with:
- Proven experience in strategic commissioning and a track record of delivering transformational change and measurable outcomes.
- Strong partnership skills and the ability to work across systems and sectors.
- Commercial acumen and a commitment to value for money.
