Director of Investment & Growth

Bournville Village Trust

Bournville Village Trust (BVT) is a long-established charitable trust with a distinctive role in creating and sustaining places where people can thrive. Its work spans housing, commercial property, development and a significant rural and agricultural estate, with income from its commercial activities reinvested into its neighbourhoods.

As Director of Investment & Growth, you will take strategic responsibility for this diverse portfolio, helping Bournville Village Trust make thoughtful choices about where and how it invests, develops and grows. Working as part of the Executive Team, you will lead on long-term investment and growth plans, ensuring commercial opportunities are considered alongside BVT’s responsibilities to its communities and the places it stewards.

The breadth of the portfolio is central to this role, bringing together strategic asset management, investment, development, commercial activity and BVT’s rural and agricultural estate. You will look across these areas to identify opportunities for growth and long-term value, strengthening BVT’s financial resilience while making the most of its assets, building strong partnerships and balancing commercial opportunity with its responsibilities as a long-term steward of place.

You will work closely with the Chief Executive and Board, bringing commercial insight across investment, asset performance and long-term value. Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will be comfortable moving between strategic priorities and the detail of delivery.

This role will suit an experienced senior leader with strong commercial judgement and a track record across investment, development, assets or place. You will bring experience of identifying and developing opportunities, navigating complexity and turning strategic ambition into delivery. Comfortable working across a broad and varied portfolio, you will combine commercial thinking with an understanding of long-term value and social purpose.

You will bring the ability to assess opportunity carefully, build effective partnerships and balance financial sustainability with long-term value for communities. Equally important will be your ability to work collaboratively in a culture where there is considerable trust, autonomy and accountability.

A genuine connection with BVT’s purpose will be important. This is an opportunity to help an organisation with a remarkable legacy use the strength of what it already owns to create new possibilities for its places, communities and future.
