Get to know: Chris Barrow, Senior Consultant

Get to know one of our newest team members, Chris Barrow, who is a Senior Consultant in our Executive Search practice:

​What is your background?

I’ve worked in recruitment for 9 years and executive search for the last 7, focussing on senior appointments in local government. Having graduated with a degree in History I wanted to build a career in a people-based industry where I could make a real and positive difference to others, and recruitment provides a great platform to do this.

Whilst I’ve recruited across a whole range of service areas, my specialism is senior social care roles from Heads of Service through to Directors of Children’s and Adults Services. I’m passionate about local government and utterly inspired by those who work in the sector to improve the lives of local communities.

Why did you decide to join Tile Hill?

One of the many attractions for me was the passion David, Anthony and Greg showed in my early conversations with them. It was clear they were completely committed to being different in the industry and giving both clients and candidates a gold-plated service. I was also drawn to the growth of the organisation and the chance to be part of that going forwards is really exciting! I’m looking forward to what the future holds.

Tell us more about your role at Tile Hill?

My role will be to work closely with Greg and Helen to help develop and expand our Executive Search practice for permanent senior level recruitment. As part of this, my focus will be on growing our social care practice by working with new clients across the country on senior roles within Children’s and Adults Services. I will also be working collaboratively with colleagues in our interim practice to maximise our offer to clients and candidates.

What will you be bringing to the table?

I bring almost 10 years’ recruitment experience, 7 of which at a senior level. I’ve worked for a nationally recognised Executive Search Practice and my specialism in social care perfectly complements Greg’s and Helen’s expertise, which will only strengthen our offering going forwards. I bring a genuine love for helping people into their dream role as well as helping clients find their perfect candidate.

Be proactive, be curious, listen, and go above and beyond.

What's your top business tip?

Imagine yourself into the role, from your initial conversations and application all the way through to final interview. And don’t forget to demonstrate your excitement for the role and organisation!
