What is your background?

I’ve been in public sector recruitment for over fifteen years now. I studied politics and public policy and have always been interested in how political vision is translated into outcomes for people.

For the past decade I’ve been in executive recruitment, leading appointments across the top tiers of local government. I have helped candidates transition between interim, permanent and non-exec careers and supported several board appointments.

Why did you decide to join Tile Hill?

I’ve had many conversations with David and Anthony over the years about how the experience of working with a search firm could feel more positive for candidates and clients and more fulfilling for us. It has been hugely impressive to see how quickly Tile Hill have impacted senior recruitment within local government and that is testament to their insight, fresh approach and absolute commitment to customer experience. I’m genuinely excited to be joining such a talented and committed team and to be supporting even more local authorities and candidates.

Tell us more about your role at Tile Hill?

My energy will primarily be spent on developing our executive search offer, consulting with and delivering for clients. It will involve lots of listening to, and building relationships with, new authorities across the country. We want to be less siloed in our engagement and thinking and like all colleagues at Tile Hill, I will be sharing ideas and knowledge across delivery lines. And as we grow as a business, meeting and hiring brilliant people to join us on the journey will be critical.

What will you be bringing to the table?

Having recruited to the public sector for fifteen plus years, I bring a strong contextual knowledge and an appreciation of the resourcing dynamic at a senior level. With that experience comes strong networks, candidate knowledge and access to diverse talent pools across both the public and private sectors. I’ve predominately worked with local authorities, their traded companies, LEPs and associated agencies, but have also partnered with housing associations, NDPBs and charities.

Attitude trumps experience however, and I will be bringing my commitment to an outstanding customer experience, a genuine desire to understand my clients’ needs and a commitment to help candidates realise their ambition. In doing so, I will be working to make Tile Hill the leading provider of executive recruitment in the public sector.

What’s your approach to recruitment?

Be interested, be responsive, strive to do better, be open to learning and above all, have integrity.

What's the soundtrack to your working life?

What's your top business tip?
