Job Description

This is an exciting time in the county’s history, and we are looking for a talented individual to help shape the future care and support we provide to vulnerable adults and those with complex care needs.

We have worked hard in adult social care and health to implement emergency models of service to cope with Covid-19 and maintain safe services. Adult Social Care will not be the same again and there is now a huge opportunity to reimagine and reshape how we support people to lead a good life. We have started our journey to reset adult social care, but our journey of transformation has stalled and we need to reinvigorate commissioning for strategy-based approaches.

We are looking to you for visible, kind and authentic leadership, someone who encourages diversity and seeks different perspectives. You will be innovative and constantly looking at ways to improve. You will be able to focus on the issues happening today alongside the broader social care pressures. With your senior experience, you’ll shape a strategic commissioning approach for the department and be a key person in shaping the Council-wide transformation as we work to take us from ‘good to great’. You’ll embody a can-do attitude and will be prepared to challenge and intervene effectively to lead the cultural change that is needed across adults and health to drive a culture of excellence, of levelling up practice across all areas and ensuring that there is a sharp focus on outcomes rather than just measuring numbers.
