ODS Group is an ambitious and purposeful Local Authority Trading Company, delivering vital public and commercial services. The Group is made up of two companies, - ODS Limited (ODSL) which holds the Teckal contract with the Local Authority, and ODS Trading Limited (ODSTL) which is used as a vehicle for the company’s ambitious growth programme and broader commercial trading. Both companies are based on a strong set of values which revolve around ‘doing good’ for our communities, our people and the environment so it is very much ‘profit for a purpose’ we aim to generate.
  
Since our inception in 2012, we’ve always looked to innovate and seize opportunity and we are now looking to take ODSTL to the next level. Our Business Plan sets out a route for our ambitious growth, including trebling the company’s net profit by 2024/25. Reporting to the Managing Director of ODS Group, you will drive and grow the business across our three pillars of commercial waste, property repairs and maintenance, and highways and infrastructure.
  
This is a unique opportunity to grow a business with a clear purpose of ‘doing good’ at pace. All profit generated by ODSTL is funnelled back into Oxford City Council to help deliver vital public services. And whilst growth at scale is important, it must not be at the expense of this social purpose and our strong value base.
  
In this newly created role, you will lead a spearhead of business development and marketing professionals to identify and win new business opportunities, develop our customer base and take ODSTL to the next level. You will have a relentless focus on creating an excellent customer experience to ensure we are delivering a first-class service, every time.
  
Building on a solid and successful platform, you will help drive, shape and deliver our future success, and, whilst there will be clear deliverables, you will benefit from the mentorship of the existing senior team. You will be a positive and empowering leader; someone who can inspire their team, give direction, and work effectively with the Managing Director, Board, Council Members, Council Officers and wider partners. You will be an exceptional candidate who is ambitious and commercially minded and shares our values of ‘doing good’ for our customers, communities, and workforce.
  
Ideally you will have a good understanding of working with the public sector, a proven track record of business development and scale growth, as well as strong financial acumen.
