Job Description
Working as part of our senior leadership team, you will link multiple services and steer them towards achieving the council’s corporate goals. Your work will be instrumental in the creation and implementation of our strategic vision, and in aligning our new operating model with the various programmes currently being rolled out throughout the organisation.
As Director of Transformation, Performance & Resources, you will have overall responsibility for a broad range of key corporate services that support the wider organisation and service areas to deliver on our strategic vision and priorities. This includes our Human Resources, Business Support, ICT and Digital transformation, Property and Estates functions, as well as our Transformation and Performance teams.
As our Director, you will report directly to the Chief Executive, and steer significant changes within the council by bringing numerous elements of our workforce and services (such as digital and physical assets, organisational development, change management and more) into a singular space to ensure full alignment of high-quality services that will support us to deliver our future aims. Crucially, you will also lead on setting the strategic direction for the council and devise our new target operating model.
This role presents you with a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our council, region and citizens by creating better outcomes for all, and taking our recent efforts in organisational and cultural change to the next level and beyond.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and understand how we deliver outstanding value to Devon’s hundreds of thousands of citizens. In this role, maximising every pound spent by residents and improving their overall experience within our county is paramount. Extensive experience at a senior leadership level is also desirable.
As you lead us through a period of transformation, it is crucial that you have a demonstrable breadth of vision and a strong, morally driven, technical and strategic mindset. A forward-thinking, customer-focused and practical outlook is also vital as you create and implement a clear, achievable vision for the future.
In return, you’ll be able to work and live in a county that boasts vibrant cities, top-performing schools and universities, and some of the most scenic coasts and countryside in the UK.
If you’re interested in transforming and shaping the future of our council, we would love to hear from you.
