Director of Policy and Transformation
St Helens Borough Council
We are on an ambitious transformation journey to create a thriving borough and a future-ready Council. Building on strong foundations, we are investing for tomorrow while delivering for today, strengthening our services, empowering our communities and maximising opportunities for people and place.
Through innovation, place-based working and a clear focus on productivity, inclusivity and partnership, we are an organisation that is resilient, purposeful and delivering for our residents. With these strong foundations in place, we are now looking for a leader who can build on this momentum and help drive the next phase of our transformation.
We are seeking a Director of Policy & Transformation to fast-track our transformation programme and lead improvements across a broad range of services. You will play a leading role in shaping future policy to ensure our services remain fit for the future, drive cultural change, strengthen governance and performance, and promote a collaborative, ‘can-do’ approach that delivers positive outcomes for our residents.
This is a pivotal and highly visible role, working closely with the Chief Executive, senior leaders and elected members. You will help align the organisation behind a clear vision for change, lead the development of a new corporate plan, and ensure transformation is delivered effectively.
We need someone who can think strategically, navigate complexity, and deliver results. Above all, you will be someone people want to work with, credible, driven and committed to delivering the best outcomes for residents. In return, you will join an ambitious and forward-looking Council at a pivotal point in its journey, with the opportunity to shape real change, influence at the highest level, and make a lasting impact for communities across St Helens. This is a chance to be part of a place where ideas are welcomed, ambition is high, and transformation is genuinely happening.
