Interim Head of Governance and Assurance

A local authority in the North of England is seeking an experienced interim leader to head up its Adult Social Care Assurance & Governance function.

This role will provide strategic leadership across quality assurance, governance, performance, business intelligence and continuous improvement, with a particular focus on CQC assurance, inspection readiness and regulatory compliance. You will lead the development of robust governance frameworks, oversee performance and assurance activity, and provide strategic oversight to senior leaders, elected members and external regulators.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of senior leadership within Adult Social Care, alongside extensive experience of CQC assurance, governance, quality improvement and performance management.

Experience leading services through CQC assessments and driving continuous improvement programmes is highly desirable.

3 days per week onsite with flexible hybrid working for the remainder, alongside a competitive day rate.
