Interim Head of Placement Sufficiency
A local authority in the South of England is seeking an experienced interim leader to drive its Placement Sufficiency Programme within Children's Services.
This role will lead the implementation of the Placement Sufficiency Strategy, with responsibility for improving fostering recruitment and retention, progressing plans for children in residential and high-cost placements, and reducing reliance on external provision. Working closely with operational leaders across Children's Services, you will drive sustainable service improvements that deliver better outcomes for children whilst achieving greater value for money.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of senior leadership within Children's Social Care, particularly across Children in Care and placement services, alongside experience improving placement sufficiency, reducing reliance on high-cost placements and delivering service improvement. You'll have a strong operational understanding of children's care pathways and be confident working collaboratively to progress plans that achieve the best outcomes for children.
